Power Supply

 What is a Power Supply?

A power supply is an essential component of any electronic device since it is responsible for giving it life. It is in charge of doing what a power supply does, which is managing the energy input from the grid and adapting it to power the equipment. Therefore, a power supply is a device responsible for providing the right and necessary current to an electronic device.

What is a Power Supply For?

A power supply is used to provide energy to an electronic device. Continuing with the topic of desktop computers, the power supply provides energy to the motherboard, CPU, graphics cards, HDDs, SSDs, fans, CD drives... In short, it powers everything that needs energy, using different types of cables to do so.

Power supplies provide energy to SSDs and HDDs through SATA power connectors, and to fans through 3- or 4-pin Molex connectors or via the motherboard itself (which is powered by the 24-pin ATX connector). In this way, all components receive power from the power supply. Additionally, power supplies protect all components through a wide range of dedicated systems.
